AMERICAN SOCIETY FOR TESTING AND MATERIALS (ASTM)
ANSI Z41 has been superseded by ASTM F2413-05 and ASTM F 2412-05
This is because the National Safety Council, which heads the secretariat of the ANSI Safe Footwear Committee Z41, elected to no longer maintain the secretariat for a number of committees, including Z41 at the end of 2003.
ASTM F 2413-05 and ASTM F 2412-05 provide test methods and performance models for "Personal Protective Footwear" to be sold in the United States. The previous ANSI Z41 was rewritten in 2004 as an ASTM model and several changes were made:
- There are only two classifications, class 75 & class 50.
- The compression test now uses clay to determine the pass instead of the conventional meter and also has a stabilizing division to hold the sample.
- The conductive footwear test has been changed to use steel injections to a depth of 1.18 inches (30mm) into the shoe instead of the electrode on the flat bottom of the heel.
- The SD II type has been retired.
- Two new protection sections for CHAINSAW cutting and Dielectric insulation have been added.
- Reports the minimum height of the clay without scrolling.
Note: Changes in safety casing manufacturing and any changes in the sole system or outsole firmness require the shoe to be requalified through testing at an independent testing laboratory.

Two models stand out from the new collection: Interact Mid and Bryson.
From the classic CAT line comes the Interact Mid, a mid-height shoe that can be worn anywhere, any day. Made of full grain leather on the upper part, it has a mesh and nylon lining to provide a more comfortable experience with a suede division. It comes in three colors: blue and red for the most daring and honey mustard, for the most traditional.
From CAT's most urban line, come the new Bryson boots, where the world of athletics is associated with urban and work clothing. The “Athleisure” trend is radically reflected in this type of consumer. It is made of full grain leather, the most superficial part of the leather, its lining is made of nylon mesh and its sole is made of molded rubber. This boot comes in three colors: brown combined with red, dark brown and honey reset.
FOR WOMAN
The Aces lacing boot is part of the more urban version of Cat, where the “Athleisure” trend stops being a trend and becomes a lifestyle. It comes in nubuck leather, with a 25mm high molded rubber sole and with all the EASE technology.
